The cheapest data price is not always the best connection plan. Device compatibility, hotspot needs, voice access, rural coverage and keeping a home number available all affect the choice.

Why this matters

Confirm the phone is unlocked, compare coverage maps and activation steps, and save installation details before departure. Keep a method for receiving essential account codes.

Make the plan usable

Build a simple primary plan, save it offline and identify one realistic fallback. Record the details that would be difficult to recover during a delay, and leave enough margin to change the plan when the evidence changes.

Questions worth answering

  • What must work?
  • Which rule can change?
  • What belongs offline?
  • Who provides the official answer?

Verify before travel

Schedules, access, prices, policies and conditions can change. Check current official information and confirm any detail that would determine whether the trip works.
