Field Notes
Firsthand observations and visual dispatches from our contributors.
From the field
Observation before recommendation.
Field Notes preserves the contributor’s recorded byline and original experience. New dispatches should state when, where and how the reporting took place.
A useful field note includes
- A specific place and moment
- What the contributor observed directly
- Practical context without pretending to be comprehensive
- Any hosted or sponsored element
