How to Verify an Accessible Hotel Room

Travel essentials and notebook beside a train window overlooking mountains

Start with the route from arrival to the room. Confirm parking or drop-off, entrance thresholds, elevator dimensions and whether any lift requires staff assistance.

Build the plan

Ask for measurements and photographs when bed height, turning space, shower entry, grab bars or controls are essential. Record who confirmed the details and when.

Make it resilient

Needs vary. Let the traveler decide which features matter and contact the property again shortly before arrival if a failure would disrupt the trip.

Verify the essentials

Schedules, access, weather, prices and operating conditions can change. Confirm anything essential through current official sources and directly with the responsible provider.
